The PokerNews Cup event in Melbourne, Australia will be the first live poker championship that PokerNews has been involved in. The PokerNews Cup is expected to develop into a worldwide tour over the next 12 months, with future tournaments to be announced soon.
The PokerNews Cup event in Melbourne, Australia has six championship events which will be ranked. The overall points leader for the PokerNews Cup will receive an Aussie Millions 2008 package which consists of entry to the opening event of the Aussie Millions ($1100 No Limit Holdem), ten nights accommodation at the Crown Towers hotel, and a $1000 Food and Beverage Voucher.

- "100% of buy-in returned to players - entry fee includes allowance for all administration and staff wages.
- All tournament entries and prize pools are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.
- Entry to the Casino is open to all persons 18 years and over.
- $325 single table satellites for the Main Event will be held daily on demand.
- Final tables for all championship events will be played at 4pm the next day, except for the main event where the final table will be played at 2.30pm on the third day.
- $60, $125 and $240 single table satellites for events 2 - 5 will be held on demand the day prior to each event.
- Winner/s of satellites will receive a $3,000 Poker News Cup entry. Runners-up in $65 satellite will receive $340 satellite entry."

We also have the option of a PokerStars transfer to pay for your main event entry and to receive the special accommodation package. Transfer US$3500 to the PokerStars account pokernewscup and we will organize your AUD$3000 main event entry as well as 6 nights at the Crown Promenade Hotel (all other tournament entries can be paid in cash at the cage, or via the credit card form above). Once you have made the transfer, please send an email to cup@pokernews.com with your PokerStars username, your real name, date of birth and email address. We will contact you with your confirmation.
